Thank You to Members of Congress Who Stood Strong to Vote Against Trump’s Federal Budget

Last week The U.S. House of Representatives passed a federal budget that will take away health care and food assistance from Californians in order to pay for deportations and tax breaks for the ultra wealthy. Next, the budget goes to the U.S. Senate.
The budget that passed the House would devastate programs that support families. We need to grow our economy by raising incomes and lowering costs, not by forcing families and children to pay the price.

These Leaders Voted to Protect Medicaid, SNAP (Food Assistance), and Basic Needs Programs
Thank you to the following California Representatives for voting NO on billion-dollar budget cuts that take away the food assistance and healthcare that millions of Californians count on – all to pay for tax breaks for the ultra wealthy. Californians value leaders like these who put our health & wellbeing first.
Rep. Gilbert Ray Cisneros, Jr.

These Leaders Voted to Slash Programs that Support Families in Poverty to Give Tax Breaks to the Ultra Wealthy
We’re disappointed with the California Representatives who voted YES to deep cuts to slash California’s food assistance and health care, all to pay for tax breaks for the ultra wealthy. We deserve leaders who will stick by their promise to stand up for the needs & values of California communities.
Cutting federal funding for SNAP, Medicaid and other programs that help support families just means states foot the bill. And if they can’t? Families lose coverage. Kids go hungry. And states have to make impossible decisions to balance the budget. Senate step up.
